WHITE HOUSE INSIDER IS BACK: SKEWERS MEDIA

Anonymous blogger Ulsterman has posted another interview with the alleged 'White House Insider' (WHI) and if true, as has been the case with previous entries, the claims are beyond explosive. Anyone with a modicum of objectivity knows the media favored Obama during the 2008 campaign but this behind-the-scenes look - again, if legitimate - perfectly illustrates how it happened.

Via News Flavor:
Ulsterman: Back to 2008…the campaign. You want to talk about the campaign. Why?

Insider: Not so much the campaign, but the media’s role. The media – what I saw happen around me with the media. Never seen anything like it before. It was great…at the time it was great. Made all our jobs a helluva lot easier, right? We would literally give the media a script and they would follow it. It would come from on high down to me and all the others who were doing the same thing I was, and then I just passed it along to this reporter or this news producer or whatever and watch them repeat it. They just took it and ran with it over and over again – no questions asked.

Ulsterman: You hinted at that in our very first interview. Something along the lines of showing favoritism to certain media – allowing them access to Obama for supportive reporting.

Insider: Yeah – yeah that was part of it. But there was more of that at the beginning, the very beginning, and then we didn’t even have to do that anymore. There came a time, I don’t know exactly when, it just kind of evolved I guess, when basically, the media was coming to us saying how can we help? What can we do for you? Not literally saying it, but…you know, the meaning was easy enough to pick up on. I would come into a city – they know I’m with the campaign, and they would literally kiss my ass. I mean kiss my –expletive- ass. It was all very much “what can we do for Obama?” That was all they seemed to care about – helping Barack Obama. I was there 24 or 48 hours ahead of the Senator, or the First Lady, or somebody else high up in the campaign, and literally able to tell these people what to say, how to report on the arrival – I mean create the image from the ground up before any of them had arrived. I have never seen anything like it. Never – no candidate has ever been given such favoritism by the media. Like I said, at the time it was fantastic. I was in the entourage of a –expletive- political god. Looking back now…it was, it was…not right. It wasn’t right. A campaign should not have that kind of…it shouldn’t be that easy. There’s a danger to that. I didn’t want to admit it then, but I sure as hell realize it now.

Ulsterman: How do you mean “danger”? What’s the danger?

Insider: The danger is that there was almost no media to put this candidate through the lens. No media to ask questions that normally would be asked of anybody running for office. So now we got more and more of us looking back at the last two years asking ourselves, “Who the hell is this guy? What the –expletive- did we do putting him in the White House?”
The entire interview is definitely worth the read. WHI points to David Plouffe as the person to come up with the strategy of using the media to announce Obama's use of Secret Service much earlier than any previous candidate in the past to exploit white guilt; the Obama campaign told the media they wanted to go against McCain in the general and it happened.

COULD WIKILEAKS END HILLARY'S POLITICAL CAREER

You know it's bad when a very liberal website calls for Hillary Clinton to step down from her role as Secretary of State because of the Wikileaks cables. While the leaked documents may be damaging to the United States, they may also lead to the downfall of Hillary Clinton at a time when many have been seeing her stock rise toward a challenge to Barack Obama in 2012.

Via Slate:
To be fair to Clinton, she isn't the first secretary of state to issue cables telling U.S. foreign service officers to spy on other diplomats. According to the leaked diplomatic cables, Condoleezza Rice likewise instructed State Department diplomats to collect such intelligence, and I wouldn't be surprised if previous secretaries of state encouraged if not instructed their diplomats to push information-collection all the way to intelligence-gathering.

But what makes Clinton's sleuthing unique is the paper trail that documents her spying-on-their-diplomats-with-our-diplomat orders, a paper trail that is now being splashed around the world on the Web and printed in top newspapers. No matter what sort of noises Clinton makes about how the disclosures are "an attack on America" and "the international community," as she did today, she's become the issue. She'll never be an effective negotiator with diplomats who refuse to forgive her exuberances, and even foreign diplomats who do forgive her will still regard her as the symbol of an overreaching United States. Diplomacy is about face, and the only way for other nations to save face will be to give them Clinton's scalp.
The Slate piece closes with this assessment:
There is no way that the new WikiLeaks leaks don't leave Hillary Clinton holding the smoking gun. The time for her departure may come next week or next month, but sooner or later, the weakened and humiliated secretary of state will have to pay.
If Hillary is shamed out of being Secretary of State, how on earth can she still be an effective president?

LATEST PIECE AT BIG PEACE: WIKILEAKS CABLES

After the latest round of Wikileaks cables were released this past weekend, we saw what many are calling the 'unvarnished truth.' The latest batch of documents are certainly the most revealing. There were two things in particular that caught my attention. One was Saudi Arabia's pleading with the United States to attack Iran and the other was the concern on the part of U.S. diplomats that Islamism in the Turkish government is on the rise. Such a reality would indeed be dangerous because of the potential resurrection of the Ottoman Empire.

I began thinking of the predictions of former Muslim terrorist and PLO / Muslim Brotherhood member, Walid Shoebat. He has been sounding alarms and making predictions for years and the Wikileaks cables bolster them.

WIKILEAKS: SAUDI ARABIA IN NUCLEAR CROSSHAIRS

For years now, conventional wisdom has been that when Iran gains access to nuclear weapons, Israel will be in the gravest danger. With the latest Wikileaks document dump, that conventional wisdom may prove as useful as conventional weapons in a nuclear world.

While Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been threatening to wipe Israel off the map and denying the holocaust, Saudi King Abdullah was aggressively lobbying the United States to strike Iran while exhorting Americans to “cut off the head of the snake” according to leaked documents.

Why would Saudi Arabia want to prevent Iran from attacking Israel? The answer is that it doesn’t. It wants to prevent Iran from attacking Saudi Arabia. The rarely discussed reality is that Iran may just loathe the House of Saud for its historically cozy oil dealings with the west and its treatment of Shiite Muslims more than it hates Israel. In their eyes, Saudi Arabia is committing national apostasy and in Islam, being an apostate is worse than being an infidel or non-believer.

Another piece to the Islamic jigsaw puzzle involves Turkey, which has been aligning with Iran in recent years. The Wikileaks cables show American diplomats’ high level of concern over Turkey’s trend toward Islamist rule and even the neo-Ottoman visions of its Foreign Minister. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan heads the Islamist Justice and Development Party (AKP) which advocates Islamist governance. Turkey is also ground zero for the Ottoman Empire, an Islamic Caliphate that was disbanded in 1924, after World War I.....
