HONDURAS: OSCAR ARIAS NOT AS ADVERTISED?

When Manuel Zelaya was removed from power on June 28th, he was deported to Costa Rica. Since then, Costa Rican president Oscar Arias has been tasked with moderating an agreement. Juan Carlos Hidalgo at The Cato Institute now provides legitimate concerns that Arias was attempting to pull the same stunt Zelaya did:
President Oscar Arias of Costa Rica has joined the trend in Latin America of calling for a new constitution that would expand executive powers and get rid of “unnecessary checks” on the president’s authority. Although Arias has less than 9 months left in office and can’t run for reelection, his brother and current minister of the presidency — a primer minister of sorts — has openly said he’s interested in running for president in 2014. A new constitution with expanded executive powers would fit him just fine.
Gee, anyone wondering if Arias is taking notes of all Micheletti's moves out of self interest?

Apparently, Costa Rica's leading newspaper, La NaciĆ³n has some concerns as well:
(La Nacion) said that the idea of dismantling the checks and balances on executive power sounds like an effort to create an “imperial presidency.”
Arias also called out the media as being “corporations interested in making a profit” that don’t necessarily pursue the “public good.”

You know, Roberto Micheletti appears to be smoking out characters he never intended to be exposed. The truth is a powerful weapon when you insist on following it without fear.

Micheletti continues to get the better of Zelaya, who long ago unmasked himself as the man he was accused of being. Now, it appears that an unintended consequence of Micheletti holding to the line is that Oscar Arias may be getting exposed as well.

Time will tell.

VIDEO: MARXIST IN CONGRESS

You know, there was a time when that headline would have been a big deal. Not anymore. Nonetheless, it is pretty shocking to see Democrat Congresswoman Diane Watson (D-CA) actually extol the virtues of communism while praising Fidel Castro as a great leader and attorney.

Looks like we have quite a few despicable people in both houses of congress that need to be jetisoned in 2010 while being held accountable and watched closely until then.

Disgusting...

VIDEO: TEA PARTY CRASHER FACES TASER

Zack Lyde attempted to crash a Tea Party in Brunswick, GA. As he got more belligerent, cops grew increasingly more interested in his intentions. Shortly after erupting with into a childish outburst, Zack Lyde became 'Zack Lyde Down' when staring at the prospect of being tased.

Here's the video from a local television news report.

You can hear the cop in this video from CNN.. "You will NOT do this crap out here in the middle of the street......not in the city of Brunswick!"

I LOVE IT! By the way, CNN reportedly referred to Zack Lyed Down as a "Minister".

Did you see how quickly he backed down when faced with a taser? Reminded me of Don't Tase me Bro (they even have shirts similar in color):

RASMUSSEN: OBAMA HITS NEW LOW

Far be it from me to attempt to interpret Rasmussen's poll results (he can do just fine on his own) but I can't help myself. It's widely accepted that polling lags reality by about three days. That means today's results actually gauge public sentiment from Thursday.

Obama hitting a new high in the STRONGLY DISAPPROVE category at 42% (his previous high was 41%). His presidential approval index is not good either at -10. The timing of Obama reaching new undesirous lows would seem to coincide with public opinion forming around the decision to allow prosecutors to target the CIA.

Just a hunch but that decision seemed to to more harm than good when it comes to public opinion.
